Resume Writing/Critique
A professional resume is crucial to a successful job search. Utilize our resume writing tools to create your professional sales pitch. To follow up, please contact for an individual appointment and receive guidance to fine tune your resume and ensure it is employer-ready.

Interviewing Skills
The job interview is your opportunity to market your skills to a potential employer, and is key to receiving a job offer. This workshop will help you to prepare for the job interview so you will be confident and ready to make an impression.

Internet Job Search
The Internet can be great resource for job searching and getting resume exposure. During this workshop you will visit various job search sites, post your resume in several databases and visit company websites to get more inside information. A resume in Microsoft Word is required to participate.

Networking 101
Effective networking will greatly increase your job search success. 80% of jobs are found through this method of job search alone. Learn what networking is and how to go about using this valuable tool in your quest for employment.

WIA Orientation
Our weekly Orientation session will introduce you to all of the Job Search and Training services our office can provide. Application procedures for WIA training funding will also be reviewed. Orientations are held weekly on Fridays at 1:00pm., but will be held on Thursdays at 1:00pm thru August 15, 2008. Orientations for youth between the ages of 16 and 21 are held on Thursdays at 1:00pm. Career Quest
Looking for a new occupation? Not sure what job might be right for you? Examine your interests, personality, skills, and values to gain insight into the type of job that could be a perfect “fit” for you.

FAFSA Application
Applying for financial aid to attend college can be a confusing process. In this workshop, you will complete your online application for financial aid with guidance from our staff. Remember to bring your full Tax Return from the previous year.

Career Research
Before you make a career change, it is vital to do thorough exploration and be well-informed about your choice. This session will assist you in conducting career research, either to complete your Career Path Packet, or for your own informational purposes.

Illinois WorkNet (coming summer 2008)
In this 3 hour workshop, job seekers will be introduced to the newest job search tool. This comprehensive website can help with finding the right job, career exploration, skills assessment and provide local resources. All job seekers are invited, regardless of their level of computer experience.
